Sips & Tips for Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab

Fall, with its changing leaves and crisp air, evokes the spirit of Rhone wine.  October 22-28 we’re featuring one of the best producers from the region, Chateau La Nerthe. Join us as we savor two incredible selections from this acclaimed producer.

With over nine centuries of history behind their labels, Château La Nerthe is clearly one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s most respected estates. Under the guidance of winemaker Ralph Garcin, the Château La Nerthe, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Blanc, Rhone, France ($11 3oz / $22 6oz / $88 per bottle) offers a rare opportunity to sample the elegant white wines of the southern Rhone Valley. The hand harvested Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Clairette and Bourboulenc offer pear and citrus on the nose, followed by fresh peach and pineapple on the palate.   Pair it with our Mahi Mahi with Mustard Vinaigrette.

Using certified organic fruit from 40-year old grapevines, the Château La Nerthe, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rouge, Rhone, France ($12 3oz / $24 6oz / $96 per bottle) is a wine fit for the Pope.  Rich and complex, it shows deeply rooted notes of black fruit with sweet and savory spices. The palate is vibrant and fresh, with complex layers of blackberry, black cherry, and silky tannins, creating an incredible pairing for most beef or wild game, specifically our Signature Bone-In Steaks.

Wine Tip: Next month we have the honor of hosting Pursued by Bear owner Kyle MacLachlan for a very special wine dinner at Joe’s Chicago. Be sure to visit Joes.net to see “What’s Crackin” at a Joe’s near you!
