Sips & Tips for Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab

April's Sommelier Series takes us to the beautiful Napa Valley, as we are featuring two incredible wines from Staglin Family Vineyard. Stop by Joe’s April 16-22 for a glass- be sure to get in early, our selections are of limited quantity and they go quickly!

In 1985, Garen and Shari Staglin purchased a 50-acre plot of land in the famous Rutherford Appellation. For over 30 years their family has owned and run the winery, and have been producing some of the best Chardonnay & Cabernet Sauvignon in the world. The Staglin, Salus, Estate, Chardonnay, Napa Valley, California ($10 3oz / $20 6oz) is a tremendous wine, offering notes of tropical flora on the nose and orchard fruit on the palate. Perfectly balanced and refreshing, this is a great match for our Bone-In Halibut.

Named after the Roman goddess of health and well-being, all of the proceeds of Salus are donated entirely to mental health research. With the assistance of winemaking legend Michel Rolland and vineyard manager David Abreu,  Staglin, Salus, Estate, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California ($20 3oz / $40 6oz) is a meticulously crafted red wine with incredible finesse. Notes of dark fruit with hints of mint give way to black raspberries on the palate and an invigorating finish. This wine pairs perfectly with our Bone-In Ribeye.

Wine Tip: This month we have the honor of hosting Staglin Family Vineyard Winemaker Fredrik Johansson for a very special wine dinner at Joe’s Washington D.C.  Be sure to visit www.joes.net to see “What’s Crackin” at a Joe’s near you!
