"Coyam is intensely violet-red in color. The nose expresses a harmony of ripe dark fruit, berries, blackcurrant, and forest fruits that delicately intermingle with the oak to deliver soft mineral notes, toffee, and chocolate. The palate offers a pleasing balance of volume and balance, very good body, smooth, well-rounded tannins, and a long finish, showing its character and personality. Recommended for long aging."

I discovered the Emiliana, Coyam during an Organic & Biodynamic seminar at Viña Errazuriz. Initially the black fruit is very intense but the weight and fruit are very proportionate. The oak is very apparent, Coyam means "Oak Forrest" after all, but it's used well and the overall balance and complexity of the Coyam are wonderful. Fans of Zinfandel, Syrah or Malbec will enjoy this wine. Lomo Asado or Porterhouse would be an excellent compliment to the Coyam.
