It is with great pride that we announce the opening of Joe’s
Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab in Washington, D.C.! Intent upon sourcing the finest wines from
around the globe, we’ve created a wine list that is diverse, approachable, with
exceptional quality & value. The following selections offer a glimpse into
the wine growing regions of the Northeast. I encourage you to come visit our
new location and join us in raising a glass of one of these fine selections.
From one of the first wineries in New York State, the 2011 Dr. Konstantin Frank, Rkatsiteli,
Finger Lakes, New York ($47 per bottle) is an aromatic white wine
produced from the grape varietal Rkatsiteli, which originated in the country of
Georgia, and is known as one of the oldest grape varietals. With elegant notes of white flower
accompanied by spicy aromas, its unique style makes for a wonderful match with
our Salmon Au Poivre.
Located just over an hour outside of Washington D.C., Glen
Manor Vineyards has generated a loyal following in a short amount of time. By
utilizing modern viticultural techniques, cabernet sauvignon (generally a
difficult grape to ripen in Virginia) is blended with merlot and petite verdot to deliver finessed notes of black cherry and
cassis, followed with silky tannin. 2010
Glen Manor, Hodder Hill, Front Royal, Virginia ($49 per half bottle) is
perfectly structured to stand up to Joe’s Filet Mignon with a side of Wild
Mushroom Mac & Cheese.
No dinner at Joe’s is officially complete unless you’ve
enjoyed a slice of one of our signature pies. And there is no better way to
perfect Banana Cream Pie than with a delicious glass of 2010 Inniskillin, Vidal, Icewine, Niagara Penninsula, Canada ($21
per glass). Produced in an extremely unique winemaking style where grapes
literally freeze on the vine, Inniskillin has created a concentrated sweet wine
with layers of fresh pineapple, ripe peaches, and candied brown sugar.
Wine Tip: Our
wine list is designed to deliver complete customer satisfaction by offering an
array of quality selections from around the globe. If you don’t find a specific
selection on the list, let us know.
